Position Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, maintenance, operation, security, workplace technology, and administration of the MasTec East Central corporate headquarters and associated facilities. This position will ensure that facilities are safe, efficient, compliant, and supportive of business operations while managing facility-related projects, vendor relationships, corporate real estate activities, environmental compliance, workplace services, and physical security programs.

The Facilities Manager serves as the primary point of contact for facility operations and will work closely with business leaders, employees, landlords, contractors, and service providers to deliver a high-quality workplace experience and maintain business continuity.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Blue Bell headquarters and other assigned facilities.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
  • Ensure proper operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and life safety systems.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor facility conditions and make recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and improvements.
  • Manage facility work order systems and respond to facility-related service requests.

 

Corporate Headquarters & Workplace Services

  • Support workplace services that enhance employee productivity and workplace experience.
  • Oversee office space utilization, furniture purchasing, office moves, workstation reconfigurations, and departmental relocations.
  • Coordinate conference room operations and facility support services.
  • Manage common areas and employee amenities, including café, breakroom, and collaboration spaces.
  • Partner with Human Resources and IT to support employee onboarding, offboarding, and workspace assignments.

 

Real Estate & Lease Administration

  • Manage leased and owned properties throughout their lifecycle.
  • Coordinate lease negotiations, renewals, amendments, terminations, and landlord communications.
  • Maintain lease records, critical dates, and facility documentation.
  • Partner with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Operations regarding real estate matters.
  • Ensure timely processing of lease obligations, rent payments, and landlord requirements.
  • Evaluate real estate needs and provide recommendations regarding office, warehouse, and operational facility requirements.

 

Capital Projects & Construction Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility improvement projects, renovations, relocations, and capital expenditures.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and vendor selection processes.
  • Manage contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants throughout project execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate office openings, consolidations, relocations, and facility closures.

 

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with facility service providers and contractors.
  • Solicit bids and negotiate contracts for facility-related services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and service levels.
  • Implement contractor safety and compliance requirements.
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability measures for key service providers.
  • Ensure all vendors maintain required licenses, insurance, and certifications.

 

Physical Security & Access Control

  • Serve as the primary administrator for facility security programs.
  • Oversee access control systems, key management, badging programs, visitor management systems, surveillance cameras, gate access systems, and alarm monitoring.
  • Coordinate facility security upgrades and improvements.
  • Manage relationships with security service providers and local authorities as needed.
  • Assist with investigations involving facility access, security incidents, or property damage.

 

Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance

  • Partner with the Safety team to support OSHA compliance initiatives and facility-related regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate facility inspections and corrective actions related to building operations and physical infrastructure.
  • Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, fire life-safety, and evacuation programs.
  • Assist with environmental compliance, permitting, and remediation activities as they relate to facility operations.
  • Collaborate with Safety personnel during regulatory audits, inspections, and workplace safety initiatives.

 

Facility Technology Systems

  • Support and oversee facility-related technologies, including building automation systems, HVAC controls, access control platforms, surveillance systems, audio-visual (AV) systems, conference room technology, digital signage, and collaboration tools.
  • Manage building automation systems, HVAC controls, access control platforms, surveillance systems, and conference room technology.
  • Coordinate maintenance, upgrades troubleshooting, and vendor support for conference room AV equipment, presentation systems, video conferencing platforms, and facility technology infrastructure.
  • Partner with IT to ensure AV systems and workplace technologies are reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with business needs.

 

Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor facility expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review and approve facility invoices and service contracts.
  • Track utility consumption and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and facility performance reports.

 

Emergency Response & Business Continuity

  • Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate resolution efforts.
  • Serve as a key contact during weather events, power outages, and emergency situations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery efforts related to facilities and infrastructure.

 

Strategic Planning

  • Develop long-term facility maintenance and capital improvement plans.
  • Evaluate facility utilization and space planning opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, employee experience, sustainability, and cost management.
  • Support future growth initiatives through facility planning and real estate strategy.

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in facilities management, property management, corporate real estate, or a related field.
  • Experience managing corporate headquarters environments preferred.
  • Experience managing leased and owned facilities.
  • Experience overseeing capital improvement projects and construction activities.
  • Experience managing facility budgets, vendor contracts, and service providers.
  • Experience supporting multiple office, warehouse, or operational locations preferred.
  • Experience supporting corporate workplace technologies, including audio-visual systems, video conferencing platforms, conference room technology, and digital collaboration environments preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance programs, and facility operations.
  • Understanding of OSHA, environmental, life safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with lease administration and property management practices.
  • Knowledge of physical security and access control systems.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and budgeting capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of commercial audio-visual systems, video conferencing platforms, conference room technology, and workplace collaboration tools.
  • Experience managing AV vendors and supporting meeting spaces, executive conference rooms, training rooms, and corporate events.
  • Ability to coordinate AV system installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management software platforms.
