Are you passionate about the intersection of operations, finance, and project execution? MasTec is seeking an Operational Finance Senior to join our high‑growth Power Delivery division. This role partners closely with operational leadership to ensure financial accuracy, project performance, and disciplined forecasting across complex infrastructure projects.

 

You’ll lead a team, serving as the primary liaison between operations, finance, accounting, and project management. Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, you will play a central role in delivering financial insights, supporting decision‑making, and ensuring strong financial and operational controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead up to a team of 3
  • Oversee the financial results for jobs /projects, including, but not limited to, revenue recognition, accruals, expense coding, billing, analytics, controls, and cost management
  • Partner with Operations, Project Management, and Finance to understand each job / projects financial results and report that financial position, addressing ad hock questions as necessary
  • Perform causation-based variance analysis and discuss the results with operations and finance leadership
  • Forecast job / projects financial results to support resource allocations and other decisions, including risks and opportunities
  • Track and assess business unit’s backlog
  • Monitor and analyze customer billings, open POs, expense trends
  • Ensure adherence to business processes and policies and procedures to maintain an effective control environment
  • Maintain compliance with government and organizational reporting requirements
  • Provide consistent and reliable data for ongoing forecasting and planning, including P&L and cash flow
  • Perform ad hoc analysis – productivity, utilization, and other

Qualifications

  • BS in Finance, Accounting, Cost Engineer or Project Management;
  • Understanding of data-driven decision making and financial modeling
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes, and controls
  • 4-10 years of accounting, finance, cost engineer or project management experience
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate well
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
