As part of the Labor Department team, the Coordinator will have primary responsibility for all aspects of maintaining and updating the Department’s Contract and Pension Fund database including revision to Collective Bargaining Language, review and approval of union wage sheets and associated adjustments to rates of pay. This is an entry level position with growth potential for candidates with an interest in pursuing a career in Labor Relations.  Candidates must possess great attention to detail, be willing to provide additional project support when required, have the ability to work independently and correctly prioritize and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update Contracts Database to accurately reflect all revisions to Collective Bargaining Agreements—building a strong foundation in contract interpretation and labor policy.
  • Maintain and update Pension Fund Database including yearly outreach to Funds—gaining experience in financial oversight and compliance.
  • Review, calculate, and approve Union wage rate schedules—developing analytical and problem-solving skills with direct business impact.
  • Review and revise collective bargaining agreements including interpretation of language changes and impact on organization.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Vice President of Labor Relations—offering visibility into strategic decision-making and mentorship from senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, labor relations, human resources, or legal field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of business office experience preferred.
  • Construction administration and/or union environment experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills; extremely detail oriented; ability to multi-task and prioritize independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
